About Us

GMG General, Inc. was established in 1989, specializing in residential and commercial asphalt paving and commercial snow removal. Over the years GMG General, Inc. has grown into the company it is today. Excavation, concrete, and commercial landscaping has been added to the contracting services that are offered. Although providing residential service is a core part of the business, GMG General, Inc. has also become a premier General Contractor in the Anchorage area, with numerous projects that include: the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail Rehabilitation (2011 and 2013), Russian Jack Park Playground and Parking Lot Improvements (2013), and Margaret Egan Sullivan Park Renewal (2012).

Project Management Staff

Rob Weingart
Owner, President/Senior Project Manager

Rob was born and raised in Northwestern Montana, where his family was heavily involved in the logging industry. Rob moved to Anchorage in 1981 from Saint Ignatius, Montana, with the original goal to continue his education from the University of Montana and become a school teacher. In the mid-1980’s, he worked in the field and in the front office as a Project Manager for a prominent Anchorage area General Contractor that specialized in paving and civil construction. He was one of the founding owners of GMG General, Inc. in 1989 and is still involved in all of the day-to-day operations and project management for the company. Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid outdoors man and enjoys all the recreation that Alaska has to offer, including hunting and fishing. He has hunted in many parts of the lower 48, as well as in Africa and New Zealand.
Will Moran
Vice President of Business Operations/Project Manager

Will was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and is a proud lifelong Alaskan. He has worked at GMG General, Inc. since 2004, including 3 years in the field as a superintendent prior to beginning work as a member of the front office staff. He attended the University of Alaska Anchorage in the Construction Management program, and was a member of the 2011 UAA Construction Management Team that took first place in the national Associate Schools of Construction Competition that is annually held in Reno, Nevada. His first office position was as an Assistant Project Manager, which also helped satisfy the internship requirement for the UAA Construction Management Program. He worked his way up to his current position as Vice President of Business Operations. Will enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, as well as golfing and traveling to watch baseball and football games. He is also a member of the local hockey community as a player and referee.
Leif Hovland
Vice President of Field Operations/Project Manager

Leif was born and raised in Bigfork, Montana, a small town in Northwestern Montana on the corner of Flathead Lake. He attended Western Montana College and graduated with a degree in Business Finance. He was also a defensive tackle for the Western Montana College football team. He worked for Questa Mortgage Company in his hometown before deciding to attend trade school for heavy highway construction. He moved to Anchorage in 2004 after finishing heavy equipment operating training in Polson, Montana. He started working for GMG General, Inc. in 2004 and quickly moved his way up to a superintendent position. After 4 years of working in the field he moved to the front office for a Project Management position. He worked his way up to his current Vice President of Field Operations role. Leif enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, as well as biking, golfing and going to the gym.
Arthur Kuusisto
Project Manager

Arthur, better known as “Art”, was born and raised in New Ipswich, New Hampshire. He started his construction career at the young age of 14 helping out family businesses in his native New Hampshire. After graduating from high school, he spent 5 years traveling around the East Coast at various jobs, building a resume with a diverse construction background that includes commercial roofing, framing, concrete flat work, and concrete walls. He spent 6 years in the Army National Guard in the Mountain Infantry, before receiving an honorable discharge. His first experience in Alaska was in 2006, when he came up for construction work and fell in love with this great state. A few years were spent traveling around Alaska working for different firms, including remote work and slope work. He started working for GMG General, Inc. in fall of 2011. He has many safety certifications, equipment certifications, and military accolades. He is currently finishing his Business Management degree. Art likes to be outdoors spending time with his son and enjoys fishing, mountain climbing, hiking, skiing, and boating.
Keven Rogers
Project Manager

Keven was born in Soldotna, Alaska. He was raised in Anchorage and is a lifelong Alaskan, currently residing in Chugiak. After leaving West Anchorage High School early to play Junior Hockey in Western Canada and Washington State, he attended the University of Alaska Anchorage from 2006-2011. He has many years of experience in the industry in various capacities that include: Foreman, operator, CDL driver, and superintendent. He joined GMG General, Inc. in early 2013 and worked in the field before accepting a Project Management position in the fall of 2013. Keven is a family man, and enjoys spending time with his wife and children, as well as baseball and golf. He has been a member of the local hockey community since 1988 and currently coaches and plays recreationally. 
Patricia Hayes
Office Manager
Patricia, better known around the office as “Trish”, was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Before relocating to Anchorage, she worked at the University of Maryland in the Shock Trauma department. In 1999, she moved to Anchorage with her daughter and started working at GMG General, Inc. as a temporary employee. She was hired on full time the following year and has been an integral part of GMG’s office ever since, working her way up to her current role as Office Manager. Trish graduated from Career Academy in 2002 with a Business Administration and Computer Technology Certificate. She also attended the University of Alaska Anchorage, with completed coursework towards a Psychology degree. Trish loves to travel near and far, especially going on cruises, and enjoys spending time with her family.
